The Daiwa BG 4500 Spinning Reel pairs a 5.7:1 gear ratio with 6 ball bearings plus 1 roller bearing and retrieves 43.1 in of line per handle turn. Its 22 lb maximum drag rating positions it as a strong medium-to-large spinning option in the BG family.
Line capacity is 350 yd of 14 lb, 280 yd of 17 lb, or 210 yd of 20 lb monofilament. For braid, the spool holds 340 yd of 40 lb or 270 yd of 50 lb line, giving the 4500 a substantial capacity without moving to the larger BG 5000 frame.
Daiwa builds the reel around an aluminum body and equips it with Air Rotor, Automatic Tournament Drag, and DigiGear. Match the reel size and line capacity to the rod, target species, lure weight, and expected drag requirements before spooling.
