Description

The Cold Steel SRK has a 6-inch black Tuff-Ex coated SK5 carbon steel clip point blade at 11 inches overall, a desert tan Kray-Ex handle, a lanyard hole and a black Secure-Ex belt sheath.

Desert tan is a military color adopted for arid environments, where olive drab reads dark against sand and stands out. Against dirt and dry vegetation it disappears in a way the OD green version does not. Everything else matches the standard SRK, which Cold Steel has sold to military and rescue buyers for decades on the argument that a 6-inch blade in tough carbon steel covers almost anything.

SK5 is a Japanese high-carbon steel comparable to 1080, tough under impact and simple to resharpen with a file in the field. Tuff-Ex is a hard baked coating that protects a steel that would otherwise rust, and Kray-Ex stays tacky when wet. Explore more Tactical Fixed Blade Knives.

  • Desert tan disappears against sand where OD green reads dark
  • 6-inch SK5 blade, 11 inches overall
  • SK5 files back sharp in the field
