Description

The Cattlemans Cutlery Farriers Companion has a satin 3Cr13 stainless clip blade and a farrier's hoof pick in bright orange Delrin handles with mirror polished stainless bolsters and an inlay shield, closing to 4.125 inches.

Orange is the loudest of the Farriers Companion colors and the reason to pick this one. A knife set down on a stall floor or dropped in a paddock is gone unless the handle argues otherwise, and orange argues hardest. The hoof pick is a blunt hooked tool for clearing packed dirt and stones from a horse's hoof before shoeing, work no cutting edge can do without injuring the animal.

The clip blade covers the cutting half of barn work, from baling twine to feed sacks. Mirror polished bolsters resist tarnish where a knife meets water and hoof dressing daily. Explore more Traditional Knives.
