The Cattlemans Cutlery Stockyard Farriers Companion has a 3Cr13 stainless clip blade and a hoof pick in rosewood handles with stainless inlay spacers, a Cattlemans Cutlery etch and stainless bolsters, closing to 4.125 inches.

The hoof pick defines the pattern. It is a blunt hooked tool for clearing packed dirt, stones and manure from a horse's hoof before shoeing, work no cutting edge can do without injuring the animal. Rosewood is the departure here. Most Farriers Companions get Delrin for the abuse a barn hands out, and rosewood trades some of that for a warmer handle that darkens with use.

Rosewood is dense and naturally oily enough to resist moisture without a finish, and it has been used on tool handles for centuries.
