The Bear and Son Large Stockman has high-polished 1095 carbon steel clip, spey and sheepsfoot blades in smooth yellow Delrin with nickel silver bolsters and a 4th Generation shield, closing to 3.875 inches.
1095 carbon steel is unusual on a modern stockman, where stainless dominates. It takes a keener edge and resharpens faster, at the cost of a patina that develops with use. The three blades divide the work: the clip for general cutting, the sheepsfoot for controlled push cuts against a surface, and the spey for scraping and skinning without a point to puncture.
