Description
The Barton Marine Size 2 35mm Snap-Shackle Snatch Block gives sailors a quick way to introduce a line or cable into a block without feeding the entire length through from an end. That makes it useful for temporary leads, changing angles, and rigging jobs that need to be set up or removed quickly. The block's construction is tailored to the line or cable service described for this model rather than treating every application as the same. Its compact format makes it practical to keep aboard as working rigging hardware for cruising or racing.
Unique to Barton, these are probably the smallest block of this type available. Important Note - Snatch Blocks. When using small and medium snatch blocks on a toe rail, a bungee line should be attached to the becket to prevent the block from 'tumbling' and causing damage by snagging. Line or cable can be introduced without reeving from an end.
- Extremely compact and strong
- A multitude of uses on cruising or racing yachts where a large unit is not required
- Sheave: 35mm (1.38")
- Sheave Width:17mm (0.67")
- Rope: 12mm (0.47")
For the Size 2 35mm Snap-Shackle Snatch Block, choose a rigging point that keeps the pull aligned with the block and avoids side loading the cheeks, snap shackle, or cable groove. A snatch block is most useful when the lead may change during a passage because the line can be introduced or removed without dismantling the rest of the system.
