Barton Marine 55mm Mainsheet Swivel Ratchet Block

The Barton Marine 55mm Mainsheet Swivel Ratchet Block adds controlled resistance to a loaded sailing line so the crew can hold and trim with less hand effort. The ratcheting sheave provides grip in the working direction while allowing the line to run when adjustment is required. This makes the block useful in mainsheet, spinnaker, or furling-line applications where the crew needs both control and quick response. Barton Marine combines the ratchet mechanism with corrosion-resistant sailing hardware intended for repeated deck use.

The Barton Ratchet Block is designed to be used on mainsheet systems and spinnaker sheets on dinghies and keelboats and for small yachts up to 30 feet. Combining high-performance engineering and contemporary design, the 2-3/16" (55 mm) ratchet block is the first in a planned range of sizes, it also offers a stainless steel lever that locks the swivel head if desired. The new Ratchet Block allows sailors to easily handhold loaded lines and offer a balance between holding power and controlled easing. Designed for low friction and longevity in harsh marine environments, the Ratchet Block body is manufactured from a composite of high-density nylon and glass fiber reinforced polymer with a high level of UV protection. Internal components are of marine grade 316 stainless steel and the 12 faced aluminum sheave is anodized in gunmetal silver.
