Description

The Barton Marine HBT1 Continuous Line Furler is a compact continuous-line furling unit built around Barton Marine's HBT1 hybrid-bearing system. The bearing arrangement combines solid-state support with Torlon ball bearings so the wheel stays balanced and turns freely under load. Its tri-rotor wheel and integrated fairlead improve line grip while allowing the furling line to be installed without loose tools or small removable parts on deck. The design targets sailors who want high load capacity without adding unnecessary weight at the tack.

Designed for optimum performance in the most demanding of conditions, the HBT1 hybrid-bearing technology combines high specification, solid-state, and Torlon ball bearings, which ensures the furling wheel remains balanced and spins freely, even under the highest loads. With a safe working load of 600kg at a featherweight 175g, the HBT1 offers both high strength and performance for the discerning sailor. As with all Barton Marine products, only the best materials and finishes are used. The central shaft is constructed from high-grade 316 stainless steel and the main chassis and fork from anodized 6061 aluminum.

  • Length Overall: 90mm/3-9/16"
  • Length Pin to Pin: 65mm/2-9/16"
  • Pin Diameter: 6mm/1/4"
  • Maximum Sail Area: 12m sq/130ft sq
  • Break Load: 1200kg/2640lbs

For the HBT1 Continuous Line Furler, unit is designed for a small-diameter continuous furling line, and the integrated fairlead keeps the loop engaged with the drum through repeated furling cycles. Correct alignment at the tack and a fair, unobstructed line run are important for smooth operation under sail. For additional sail-handling and furling components, browse more Sailing Hardware.
