Description

The Barton Marine 4mm Dyneema Loop 12mm High-Load Eye combines a hard-anodized low-friction eye with a high-strength Dyneema loop for lightweight line redirection. The assembly can replace a conventional block in barber haulers, preventers, mast-base tidies, toe-rail leads, and other occasional rigging positions. Because the eye has no rolling sheave, the system stays simple while still providing a smooth bearing surface for the line. The Dyneema loop also makes attachment fast and flexible when a hard shackle or fixed block would be less convenient.

The Barton high-load eye with loop is available in three sizes and can be used in various applications on board, including barber hauler, preventers, mast base block tidies, emergency blocks, occasional blocks, and toe rail blocks etc. The high-load eye, combined with the Dyneema loop, gives you a fast, efficient, simple, and extremely strong solution for changing the direction of any line. The hard anodized aluminum eye is designed to have very good wear-resistant properties with low friction, which, combined with the high-strength Dyneema loop, gives you an exceptional low weight to very high performance and load ratio. Low-friction eye provides a compact line-routing point.

  • High load eye compared to a standard plain bearing
  • block on average across the range
  • Friction increases by only 15%
  • Strength increased by 272%
  • Weight reduced by 51%

For the 4mm Dyneema Loop 12mm High-Load Eye, loop can be passed around a suitable strong point, making the assembly easy to reposition without adding a metal shackle at every attachment. Because a high-load eye relies on sliding friction rather than a rolling sheave, it is best used where its compactness and low weight are more valuable than the efficiency of a ball-bearing block.
