Description

The Balmar SG210 Battery Monitor Kit has a color display and a self-calibrating architecture that learns battery behavior over time.

Learning battery behavior is what separates this from a monitor that simply counts amp-hours in and out. Counting alone drifts, because a battery's actual capacity falls with age and a counter keeps working from the number it was programmed with. A learning monitor corrects toward what the bank really holds.

That matters most on an older bank, where the gap between rated and actual capacity is widest. A monitor reporting 50 percent on a bank that has lost a third of its capacity is telling you something reassuring and wrong.

It supports common battery chemistries and system voltages, covering a wide range of marine bank configurations. The color display presents charge condition, battery performance and remaining capacity rather than raw numbers to interpret. Explore more alternator parts and accessories.

  • Learns the bank rather than counting amp-hours
  • Counting drifts as real capacity falls with age
  • The gap is widest on an older bank
  • A reassuring reading can be badly wrong
