Description

The Birchwood Casey 8 in 3/8 in AR500 Round Targets is an 8 in round plate cut from 3/8 in AR500 steel. It is a good size for handgun drills and rifle practice. A bright white finish makes it easy to see downrange.

AR500 is abrasion-resistant steel hardened to about 500 Brinell, which lets the plate take repeated hits without cratering or deforming. Hard steel breaks bullets apart on impact instead of letting them dig in, so the face stays smooth for safer shooting. A round plate gives you a centered aiming point.

Common safe practice with steel is to stay at least 10 yards back with handguns and 100 yards back with centerfire rifles. Hang the plate so it angles slightly down, never shoot steel-core or armor-piercing ammunition, and wear eye protection. Stands and other gongs are in our targets and range gear section.

  • 8 in round plate.
  • 3/8 in AR500 steel.
  • White finish for visibility.
  • For centerfire rifle and handgun.
