ARCO Suzuki 2017-Up Replacement Outboard Starter

The ARCO 3448 is a replacement starter for Suzuki outboards built from 2017 through 2023. It covers the 70 to 100 HP models as well as the larger 150 to 350 HP engines. ARCO cross-references it to Suzuki 31100-98L00 and 31100-98L10, Sierra 18-6962, and Mitsubishi M000TD5872.

If the label on your old starter shows any of these numbers, this is the correct replacement. Suzuki changed starters between engine generations, so a 2016 engine and a 2018 engine of the same horsepower may not take the same part. The starter for 2004 to 2017 Suzuki engines is a different part number and is listed separately in our store. Reading the old starter's label before you remove it saves a second trip if the numbers do not match.

ARCO finishes its starters with nickel plating or epoxy paint and seals them to keep water out of the motor. Charge the battery fully and clean the cable ends before installing, because low voltage forces the starter to draw more current and can damage the solenoid. After installation, listen for clean gear engagement and strong, even cranking. Other options are in our marine starters.
