Maniaghese means simply 'of Maniago', the northern Italian town that has forged blades since the fifteenth century, and the pattern is the plain regional folder: a single blade, wood scales, no bolsters and no lock. Antonini has worked there since 1945 and still makes this shape largely unchanged, which is the appeal. There is nothing on the knife to fail and nothing that dates it. Stainless keeps the upkeep low where the traditional version would have used carbon, and a satin finish hides the fine scratches a pocket knife collects.
