Description

The Ancor Red 2 AWG Tinned Battery Cable is a 50-foot length with Type 3 ultra-flexible construction, rated 600V.

Two AWG positive is a size that must be fused, and the fuse rating follows the cable rather than the equipment on the end. A windlass drawing 80 amps on a 2 AWG run does not mean an 80 amp fuse. The cable's ampacity is what the protection has to match, or the gap between the two ratings is left unprotected.

Fifty feet suits a single positive run, with the matching black or yellow negative ordered at the same time. Red identifies positive under standard marine practice, and consistent color coding is what makes a system safe to work on later.

Tinned copper stranding protects against corrosion and electrolysis where salt and moisture reach the conductor. Ultra-flexible Type 3 construction improves routing while resisting vibration fatigue, with premium vinyl insulation rated 600V, 105°C dry and 75°C wet. Explore more battery cable.

  • Fuse to the cable's ampacity, not the equipment
  • An 80 amp windlass does not mean an 80 amp fuse
  • The gap between ratings is left unprotected
  • Order the matching negative at the same time
