Description

The Ancor Black 16 AWG Tinned Copper Wire is a 500-foot spool of single conductor with Type 3 ultra-flexible stranding.

Sixteen gauge single conductor covers lighting, electronics and low-draw accessory circuits where the negative returns to a bus. Five hundred feet sounds like a lot until an interior is rewired, at which point light circuits consume more footage than every heavy circuit combined.

The limitation at this gauge is voltage drop over distance rather than current capacity. A short 16 gauge run is fine and the same circuit taken forward and back is often not, and the result is a dim light rather than a blown fuse.

Tinned copper stranding protects against corrosion and electrolysis in damp and saltwater conditions. Ultra-flexible Type 3 construction routes through consoles, panels and machinery spaces while resisting vibration and repeated flexing. Explore more marine wire.

  • 16 gauge for lighting, electronics and light accessories
  • Light circuits use more footage than the heavy ones
  • Drop over distance limits it, not current
  • The result is a dim light, not a blown fuse
