Cattleman's Cutlery Chuckwagon Zebrawood Knife and Fork

The Cattlemans Cutlery Chuckwagon has a satin 1065 carbon steel clip blade and a fork in a zebra wood handle with stainless bolsters, a bottle opener and an inlay shield, closing to 4.13 inches.

A knife and fork folding into one handle is the chuckwagon pattern, made for eating away from a table, and the bottle opener rounds out what a camp meal actually needs. The fork is the part that dates it. This is a pattern from ranch and trail cooking, when a man carried his own utensils rather than expecting them to be provided.

Zebra wood is striped with dark bands running through pale heartwood, so no two handles match. 1065 carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless and comes back faster on a stone, developing a patina with use. Explore more Traditional Knives.
