The Veratron Rudder Angle Sensor is a single station analog sensor with a 45-0-45 degree range and 3-180 ohm output, running on 6-24 volts DC.

Knowing rudder angle matters most when it disagrees with where the wheel is. Hydraulic steering has no mechanical link to tell you, so a boat can be running with rudder on without the helm feeling it. That shows up as a boat that will not track straight or an autopilot working against a standing offset.

The 3-180 ohm output is the European sender standard, which must match the gauge it feeds. An American gauge expecting 240-33 ohm will read at the wrong end of the scale. Single station means it drives one gauge, so a flybridge and lower helm sharing a reading needs a different sensor. Explore more marine gauges.
