Tecnoseal X5 1-1/4 in Zinc Propeller Shaft Anode

The Tecnoseal X5 is a zinc propeller shaft anode for 1-1/4 inch shafts. It has a 1.25 inch inner diameter, a 2.27 inch outer diameter and stands 2.52 inches long. It weighs 1.09 lb and clamps on with 2 fastener holes.

Zinc is the traditional choice for saltwater use, but it isn't suited to fresh water, where it can develop a coating that stops it from working. A shaft anode protects the shaft and propeller directly, which matters on boats where the shaft isn't well bonded to a hull anode. Fit it on clean, bare shaft so it makes full contact.

Leave room from the cutless bearing and strut so the anode doesn't rub. Clean the mounting surface to bare metal before installing so the anode makes good electrical contact.
