Description

The Sirius 12 is an IPX7 waterproof 12x21 binocular with a 6-axis gyro sensor for image stabilization and a 1/4 inch tripod mount.

Twelve power is well beyond what anyone holds steady by hand, and that is the problem the gyro sensor solves. It compensates for shake in six axes, so the image stays still where an unstabilized 12x would be unusable. On a moving boat that is the difference between a magnification you can only use on a tripod and one you can use standing up.

Stabilization is what lets a 21mm objective work at 12x. Without it the shake would matter more than the small front lens, and with it the compact size becomes practical. IPX7 means full immersion rather than splash resistance, which is the rating a boat actually needs. Explore more outdoor optics and navigation.

  • 6-axis gyro sensor stabilizes a 12x image
  • 12x is unusable handheld without stabilization
  • Works standing on a moving deck, not just on a tripod
  • IPX7 covers immersion, not just splashes
