Description

The Rough Rider Sowbelly in Black Marble sets a mirror-finished stainless clip blade with a spey blade on the distinctive sowbelly handle shape, fitted to a black and gray resin handle with nickel silver bolsters.

The sowbelly's curved silhouette, bulging outward in the middle, gives the handle a more substantial feel in the palm than a straight-sided pattern, filling the hand in a way many traditional collectors specifically seek out. Everyday cutting is the clip blade's part, while the spey blade's flatter edge and rounded tip is purpose-built for detail work and skinning tasks a pointed blade handles less cleanly. That black and gray resin handle gives a marbled, stone-like look distinct from the bone and wood found on most traditional patterns, each piece showing its own swirled variation.

Each blade holds a nail nick for opening rather than a stud or a hole, kept closed by a slip joint, spring tension holding it rather than a mechanical locking bar. Rough Rider's sowbelly pattern gives collectors a distinctive handle shape in an uncommon material. Resin handle materials remain an uncommon choice among Rough Rider's broader traditional lineup.
