The Remington Moistureguard Cloth is a 10 by 10 inch cloth saturated with Rem Oil and VCI, for wiping down metal surfaces.

VCI stands for vapor corrosion inhibitor, and it is what separates this from an oily rag. The compound releases a vapor that settles on metal nearby, so it protects surfaces the cloth never touched inside a closed case or drawer. That is the reason these get stored with firearms and knives rather than only used on them.
