Real Avid 1911 Smart Mat 19 x 16 in Cleaning Mat

The Real Avid 1911 Smart Mat is a 19 x 16 inch padded work surface sized for a field-stripped 1911. Illustrated takedown steps are printed right on the mat. Anyone still learning the 1911's order of disassembly can follow along without a manual open beside the gun.

An attached parts tray holds the barrel, bushing, springs and pins as they come out. A magnetic compartment in the tray keeps small steel parts from rolling off the edge. Those are the pieces that tend to vanish under a bench, and losing one stops reassembly cold.

The surface resists oil and solvent, so CLP and carbon cleaner stay on the mat rather than soaking into a kitchen table or workbench. A non-slip backing keeps it in place while you work a brush through the bore. When you're done, it rolls up for storage in a drawer or range bag. Rods, brushes and solvents to go with it are in our gun cleaning and maintenance department. Browse more gun cleaning and maintenance.
