Rapala was founded in Finland in 1936 by Lauri Rapala, a fisherman who hand-carved the world's first floating minnow lure to mimic the wounded-baitfish action predator fish key in on. That original lure launched a company that has grown into one of the most trusted names in fishing worldwide, with every lure still tested by hand before it leaves the factory. CritPro carries a growing selection of genuine Rapala lures, fillet knives, and related fishing tackle.
Rapala is especially well known for its Original Floater and Shad Rap crankbaits, along with its line of fillet knives built for cleaning and processing fish with precision. The broader lineup covers hard-bodied lures, jigging lures, lipless crankbaits, surface poppers, fishing and hunting knives, fishing rods, reels, and braided and monofilament fishing line, developed through joint design work between teams in Finland and the United States.
Whether you're chasing bass on a crankbait, trolling for walleye with a classic minnow lure, or cleaning the day's catch at the dock, Rapala offers tackle and tools built on nearly a century of real-world fishing experience. From time-tested lure patterns to sharp, purpose-built fillet knives, the brand provides dependable gear trusted by anglers in more than 140 countries.
