The 36 in solid shaft uses a smooth coated or non-embedding surface suited to precision bore cleaning, while the full-size dual-action handle can swivel with rifling or be configured fixed for chamber and smooth-bore work. The tip uses standard 8-32 threads for compatible Otis brushes, mops, and jags.

A ball-bearing handle lets the rod rotate naturally instead of forcing the shaft against the rifling during a cleaning stroke.
