XS/SM is the smallest size, and fit matters most at this end of the range. A vest too large rides up over the head in the water and holds almost nothing, which is the specific failure that happens when a smaller paddler wears whatever the household has spare.

Six points of adjustment across the shoulders and sides let the vest be pulled in properly rather than approximately. Setting those before going out, not after, is what makes the difference, and the zipper assist loop allows one-handed closing on the water.

Mesh channels front and back let heat escape from under the foam, with soft light foam that does not weigh on the shoulders. SOLAS-grade reflective trim, a clipped-on whistle, a mesh-draining zippered pocket, a lash tab and a drying loop are all fitted. The thinner lower back panel clears high-back kayak seats.
