Description

The Onyx AirSpan Breeze is a minimal-build paddling life jackets in purple, sized M/L, with an expanding rear mesh panel.

AirSpan is the feature that separates this from the MoveVent range, and it works the opposite way to what most people expect. Tightening the side webbing to a snug fit makes the inner mesh panel expand, opening space between the back and the foam. So the tighter it is set, the more air moves through, rather than less.

That matters on a hot day in a kayak, where the back is the surface that never sees a breeze and a conventional vest traps everything against it. Six adjustment points dial in the fit, with Airprene comfort pads at the shoulders and webbing that tucks away instead of dangling.

Two large pockets use stretchable Airprene panels that hold gear while still draining. Slim front foam, a sculpted upper back and wide armholes leave the stroke unobstructed, and a thin back panel clears most canoe and kayak seats. Reflective trim front and back plus a light attachment loop. Explore more life jackets and PFDs.

  • Tightening the straps opens the back mesh, not closes it
  • More air moves through the snugger it is set
  • The back is the surface that never sees a breeze
  • Airprene pockets hold gear and still drain
