The Kershaw Wharf is based on an unusual blade shape for an EDC folder, a 2.88-inch stonewashed 8Cr13MoV cleaver-style blade that trades a traditional point for a wide, flat cutting edge better suited to push cuts and slicing tasks.

That cleaver profile puts more usable edge in contact with the material during a cut, useful for slicing through food, rope, or packaging in fewer strokes than a curved blade would need. The stonewash finish handles daily scuffs and scratches without showing wear the way a polished blade would, and a gray Glass-Reinforced nylon handle keeps the knife lightweight and secure in hand even when wet or gloved. The extended tang opening point delivers fast one-handed deployment, and a liner lock holds the blade securely open through use.
