The Hella Marine Apelo A1 is an 1,800-lumen RGB underwater light in a black housing with a white lens.

A white lens in a black housing is the combination for a light hull with dark trim, or where the fixture sits below the waterline out of sight. The charcoal-lens version of the same A1 disappears better on a dark hull, and the two are otherwise identical.

Direct white and blue are selectable, or full color through the RGB range. Blue suits clear or salt water and green suits stained or tannic water, so being able to switch without changing fixtures is the practical case for RGB over a single-color light.
