The Harken 8mm High Resistance "D" Shackle is forged from 17-4PH stainless steel specifically to handle high loads, well beyond what a standard shackle of the same size is rated for.

It's polished to a high luster and stamped with the screw pin diameter for quick identification, and an "HR" imprint marks it clearly as a High-Resistance model rather than a standard-duty shackle.
