Description

The Harken 1 Ton Twing Block gives fast, one-handed attachment to a loaded or unloaded sheet for performance sail-control applications. A spring-loaded side-opening mechanism lets the sailor rig or remove the block quickly, even while wearing sailing gloves, which is especially useful when twing or sheet-lead arrangements need to change during maneuvers.

Black-anodized aluminum sideplates are edged with protective bumpers to help shield the block, topsides, and deck. The aluminum sheave uses Harken's high-load bearing technology, while an anti-capsize bar keeps the sheave aligned on the sheet and side-load balls support operation when the block is not perfectly aligned in lighter air.

Confirm line size, working-load requirements, attachment point, sheet path, and twing geometry before use. Make sure the spring-loaded sideplate closes completely and the anti-capsize bar is correctly positioned around the line. Inspect the release button, sideplate, bearings, thimble, line, and attachment point regularly, particularly after high-load sailing.

  • The spring-loaded side opening simplifies fast sheet changes.
  • Robust sideplate bumpers help reduce contact damage.
  • The anti-capsize bar supports correct line tracking.
  • High-load bearing construction supports efficient sheave movement.
