GROCO 2-Inch NPT Bronze Full Flow Pipe Nipple

The GROCO PN-2000 full-flow pipe nipple is a straight threaded connector for marine systems that need an uncomplicated NPT-to-NPT transition. It is useful when two female-threaded components must be joined without adding a bulky union or adapter stack. The full-flow bore helps avoid creating an unnecessary restriction in a properly sized plumbing run. A cast-in wrench flat gives the installer a dedicated surface for tightening and later removal.

Using one purpose-built nipple also removes the extra joints that would result from combining shorter adapters to make the same connection. GROCO casts the PN-2000 from C83600 marine bronze for service in compatible onboard plumbing systems. That limitation is important when separating raw-water, sanitation, and utility circuits from drinking-water systems during a refit. The bronze used for this fitting is not NSF-61 compliant, so the nipple is not intended for potable-water plumbing.

Apply thread sealant appropriate to the system fluid and fitting materials, then tighten the PN-2000 using the wrench flat rather than gripping the threaded section. Support the components on both sides so pipe weight and vibration do not continually load the nipple. Once the circuit is pressurized, inspect both connections for seepage and recheck them after the system has gone through several operating cycles.
