GROCO 3/4-Inch Bronze Tri-Flanged Seacock

The GROCO BV-750 is a tri-flanged seacock for marine intake and discharge plumbing where a positive hull-side shutoff is important. Its design gives the operator a direct way to isolate the connected line for service, winterization, or an emergency without dismantling the plumbing. Full-flow geometry helps keep the valve from becoming an unnecessary restriction in the line. The triangular base intended to simplify replacement of many common seacock patterns is especially useful when the valve must be fitted into an existing installation with limited room around the hull connection.

GROCO builds the BV-750 around a bronze valve body with stainless-steel ball, stem, handle, and hardware. Serviceability is part of the design, allowing routine attention to the valve without treating it as a disposable fitting. PTFE seating surfaces provide the valve seal, and the base includes a bonding point for installations where the vessel's bonding plan calls for one. The handle is designed so a standard ratchet can assist operation when access is awkward or a valve has become difficult to move by hand.

Before bedding the BV-750, confirm that the thru-hull, flange, hose direction, and handle sweep all line up without forcing the connected plumbing. Fasteners and backing support should be appropriate for the hull structure, and the completed connection should be checked for leaks before the boat returns to normal use. Exercise the valve periodically so it remains familiar and free-moving rather than discovering a stiff handle only when isolation is urgently needed.
