This version is intended for Yamaha outboards equipped with a factory flush port, including many engines from 150 through 425 hp. It is not intended for Yamaha 50 through 115 hp models, the 450 hp model, or 2024-2025 engines rated at 115 hp or less. That compatibility distinction matters because the thread and flush-port arrangement must match the engine before the original connector is removed. Checking the engine model and year before installation avoids forcing an incompatible fitting into the cooling-system connection.

Installation starts by unthreading the Yamaha flush port and fitting the new female quick connector on the engine side. The male quick-connect piece threads into the opposite side of the original flush-port assembly, and the second female connector attaches to the water supply. Once installed, the hose can be connected and disconnected without repeatedly working the factory threaded fitting.
