The Cold Steel Trench Hawk is 19 inches overall with an 8.75 inch 1055HC head, a 3.5 inch cutting edge, a dark earth polypropylene handle and a Secure-Ex sheath.

The wedge-style spike opposite the edge is what makes this a hawk rather than a hatchet. It concentrates force into a point for breaching and prying where the blade side chops. That pairing comes from the trench raiding tools of the First World War, which is where the name comes from.

1055HC is a medium-carbon steel chosen for toughness over hardness, so the head absorbs repeated impact without chipping and files back sharp in the field.
