Caldwell AR500 Yellow 8 in Steel Gong Target

The Caldwell AR500 8 inch Gong Steel Target is a yellow steel target for repeated range practice. An 8 inch gong rings when hit and is a smaller, more challenging target. Steel gives instant feedback without walking downrange to check paper. Bright yellow stands out against berms and backgrounds.

AR500 is through-hardened steel rated around 500 on the Brinell scale, hard enough to take repeated hits without denting or cratering from common handgun and rifle rounds. Always follow the manufacturer's minimum safe distances, commonly at least 10 yards for handguns and 100 yards for rifles, and never shoot steel with steel-core, armor-piercing or bimetal-jacketed ammo. Set targets so they're angled slightly downward to direct fragments into the ground, and wear eye protection.

Reactive steel makes practice more fun and keeps shooters engaged. Repainting between sessions shows fresh hits clearly. It's a good way to practice quick follow-up shots. Browse more targets and range gear.
