Two blades on one folder is the point. A knife blade handles cutting and a dedicated saw blade handles wood, and those need entirely different geometry. Russ Kommer is an Alaskan guide and knifemaker whose designs come from field use rather than a drawing board, which shows in a tool shaped by what a camp actually needs.

4116 is a German stainless chosen for corrosion resistance and easy resharpening, which suits a knife used wet and touched up in the field. The saw blade is high carbon rather than stainless, since carbon holds a tooth set better under the load sawing puts on it. The rubber inlay grips when hands are cold or wet.
