Beckson 18 in Floating Sea Kayak Hand Bilge Pump

The Beckson Sea Kayak pump is an 18-inch manual bilge pump intended for removing water from a kayak cockpit. An aluminum reinforcing shaft helps keep the handle from flexing when pumping in rough conditions. The nonmagnetic reinforcement is intended to avoid affecting a nearby compass. The Float-a-Pump accessory is already installed on this version.

An installed Float-a-Pump sleeve gives the pump positive flotation if it is dropped overboard. The compact body can be operated by hand in places where an electric pump is impractical. A discharge hose can be added when water needs to be carried farther away from the cockpit.

Beckson specifies an eight-gallon-per-minute capacity and approximately eight strokes per gallon under its stated conditions.
