Barton Marine Ball-Bearing Furling Top Swivel

The Barton Marine Ball-Bearing Furling Top Swivel completes the upper end of a Barton Marine furling setup and lets the sail rotate while the halyard attachment remains controlled. The body is machined from solid aluminum and runs on a stainless steel ball-bearing assembly for smooth rotation. Its compact dimensions keep weight aloft low while matching the load capability of the associated Barton furling drum system. The swivel is intended for sailors assembling or servicing a compatible small-boat furling installation.

The top head swivel is from machine-turned solid aluminum with stainless steel ball-bearing. The solid aluminum body keeps the swivel compact while the stainless bearing assembly carries the rotating load. It is rated to work with the same sail area and load range as the matching Barton furling drum system. At only a small fraction of the mass of the sail and rig, the upper swivel adds little unnecessary weight aloft.
