The 12V version of the Attwood Sahara MK2 S800 automatic bilge pump is made for conventional 12-volt DC marine electrical installations. It combines an 800 GPH nominal pump with an integrated water-sensing function, reducing separate components in a tight bilge. Manufacturer part 5508-7 distinguishes this model from the visually similar 24V version.
Keeping water moving through the discharge path is a priority in a bilge pump, especially where hoses can trap air. The Sahara MK2 uses Attwood's X-Air impeller to help purge air and a SteadySwitch automatic control system to limit unnecessary cycling. Its stainless-steel shaft, reinforced seals, and cool-running motor are designed for continued freshwater or saltwater service.
An external-foot mounting arrangement can simplify installation or replacement without dismantling the entire pump assembly. The cartridge can be serviced with one hand, provided enough clearance is left around the housing. Check 12V supply wiring, hose sizing, and fuse protection, then verify the automatic start and discharge performance with water in the bilge.
