The Attwood dual-drive hand winch is designed for pulling a boat onto a trailer with a compact mechanical gear system. Precision gear-tooth engagement provides a solid connection between the handle and drum instead of relying on loosely meshed stamped gears. The dual-drive layout distributes the pulling load across two gear sets, which helps reduce frame torque under heavier loads. A three-position pawl gives the operator forward, neutral, and reverse control during loading and unloading.

The black EDC finish helps protect the frame and gear components from corrosion around wet ramps and road spray. A molded textured grip gives the handle a secure feel when hands are wet. The supplied nylon web strap eliminates the need to source a separate strap and terminates in a zinc-plated snap hook for connection to the bow eye. Its gear ratio is selected to balance pulling effort with useful drum speed during normal trailer use. The gear train uses a 4.1:1 ratio to balance handle effort and drum travel during loading. The supplied web strap is 2 in wide and 20 ft long and terminates in a zinc-plated snap hook.
