Armaspec Gen 3 Black Carbine Sound Mitigation Buffer

The Armaspec Gen 3 Sound Mitigation Buffer (SMB) is a single-stage captured replacement for the buffer and spring in AR-15 carbine setups. The spring is captured on a guide so it never rubs against the inside of the buffer tube. That's where the familiar twang of a standard buffer comes from.

Removing that contact makes cycling smoother and quieter. It swaps in place of your existing buffer and spring with no gunsmithing. The complete system includes the buffer, spring and a polymer base guide rod. This version is finished in black, which is the main visual difference to check when comparing related models in the same family.

The SMB is Armaspec's single-stage system, while the Stealth Recoil Spring is multi-stage. Match the version to your rifle's configuration. Compare the listed compatibility with the firearm in hand, since similar-looking components can differ by platform or generation. Browse more gun parts and accessories.
