Ankerplex 8.2 kg Aluminum HHP 39 ft Boat Anchor

The Ankerplex AP20 is an 8.2 kg aluminum High-Holding Power anchor rated for boats up to 39 feet. It is a patented design with no moving parts, so there's nothing to jam or foul. Aluminum keeps it light for its size, which matters when you're hauling it by hand. Aluminum resists corrosion and won't rust in saltwater the way plain steel can.

Ankerplex built it to grip quickly across a wide range of bottoms, including loose mud where many anchors drag. It also resets well when the wind or tide swings the boat around. That makes it a practical primary anchor on boats that spend the night on the hook. Fast resetting matters most at night, when you won't notice the boat swinging.

The big difference is storage. The anchor stows completely flat, so it fits compartments where a fluke or plow anchor won't, and it sets up by hand in seconds with no tools. Keep a few feet of chain between the anchor and rode to help it set at a lower angle. It works as a primary anchor, a quick-access auxiliary or a compact heavy-weather backup, and other styles are in our boat anchors section.
