Ancor Red 4/0 AWG Battery Cable, 25-Foot Spool

The Ancor Red 4/0 AWG Battery Cable is a 25-foot spool of tinned copper with Type 3 ultra-flexible construction.

Cable this size is chosen because of current, and the current is high enough that fusing becomes the critical decision. A 4/0 positive run from a battery bank has to be protected close to the bank, since the cable can deliver enough fault current to start a fire before anything downstream reacts.

That protection is usually a Class T fuse, which has the interrupt capacity to clear a fault a lesser fuse would fail to break. The cable is only as safe as what protects it, and 4/0 unfused is a serious hazard rather than a shortcut.

Tinned copper stranding resists corrosion and electrolysis, and Type 3 construction keeps the cable routable despite the gauge.
