Description
The Condor Lipotes has a 4.13-inch blasted satin 14C28N Sandvik stainless blade with a Scandi grind and a full tang at 9 inches overall, a blue polypropylene handle, a lanyard hole and a blue polypropylene belt sheath.
Pairing a Scandi grind with stainless is the unusual choice here. The grind belongs to Nordic carbon-steel knives, where keenness matters more than corrosion resistance, and 14C28N gives up very little in edge while needing none of the drying carbon demands. For anyone carving damp wood or working near water, that trade is worth making.
Blue on both handle and sheath is a departure from the earth tones bushcraft knives usually wear, and it makes the knife far easier to find where it has been set down. Polypropylene keeps the price low and takes abuse, and the full tang runs the steel the whole length of the handle. Explore more Survival and Bushcraft.
- Scandi grind in stainless rather than the usual carbon
- 14C28N needs none of the drying a carbon Scandi does
