Rough Rider 1976 Heavy Forge Trapper Knife

The Rough Rider 1976 Heavy Forge What Is a Trapper Knife? Uses and History sets a mirror-finished, high-carbon stainless clip blade with a spey blade, fitted to a brown smooth bone handle with nickel silver bolsters and an inlay shield.

That Heavy Forge designation points to a much more substantial forging process behind the steel, aimed at added durability well beyond a standard budget trapper. The clip blade covers general everyday cutting, while the spey blade's flatter edge and rounded tip is purpose-built for detail work and skinning tasks that a pointed blade handles less cleanly, the same proven pairing that's made the trapper one of the most enduring traditional patterns. Brown smooth bone gives the handle a clean, classic look that pairs particularly well with the darker blade finish.

Opening is by nail nick, the way these have always worked, and each individual blade is kept closed by a slip joint, spring tension holding it rather than a mechanical locking bar. Rough Rider's Heavy Forge line brings more substantial steel to the classic, trapper pattern found here. Worth choosing if what you want is proven two-blade utility paired with added durability throughout the entire knife. Explore more Trapper Knives.
